Pat Scully has been sacked as manager of Limerick FC despite having successfully guided them back to the Airtricity League Premier Division.

The club was apparently reluctant last night to elaborate on a brief statement carried on its website with club chairman Pat O’Sullivan failing to return a call on the matter but in its statement the club said that it will shortly advertise for a replacement.
