A classy Ireland ruthlessly dismantled Wales's Pembrokeshire Cup hopes at Ninian Park last night thanks to a brace by Manchester City starlet Stephen Elliott and a strike by Paul Keegan. On a surface affected by rain, Wales looked the brighter side early on.
Ireland took the lead after eight minutes, Paul Caffrey's inswinging corner catching Welsh goalkeeper Andrew Marsh cold, Elliott swooping to pounce. It was one way traffic after the interval. The razor sharp Elliott gleefully slide home a third after Keegan had doubled Ireland's advantage 15 minutes into the second half.
