Wales wing Shane Williams has been named the Six Nations player of the tournament after scoring six tries in his team's Grand Slam this year.

Williams's final try against France was the 41st of his international career, breaking Gareth Thomas's previous Welsh record.

He won 55 per cent of the votes cast on the Six Nations website ahead of Italy captain Sergio Parisse and Wales skipper Ryan Jones.
