Schools Rugby Leinster Junior Cup/ Cistercian, Roscrea 33 Belvedere College 19:Cistercian College Roscrea blew away Belvedere College with a dazzling display of running rugby in this quarter-final at Lakeland's Park yesterday.

It was impressive stuff fashioned from a hard-working pack in which hooker Kevin O'Connell, blindside Damien Egan and number eight Brian Moylette were never far from the action.

The backs moved the ball from deep and at will with outhalf Jack O'Connell at the hub of the movements and centres Conor Finn and Shane Layden always available to take the ball over the gain line.

Belvedere began well and in the sixth minute left-wing Mark Quinn-Neylon beat away two high tackles for a try from distance. Outhalf David Carey converted. However, Roscrea knuckled down and O'Connell charged in at the posts for his twin brother Jack to add the points to make it all-square at the break. Thereafter, Roscrea took over as Finn (2), prop Eamon Quirke and wing Jack O'Driscoll tacked on tries. Belvedere responded through right wing Donal Brennan and lock Tom McGimpsey.
