AFTER just one year at the helm Howard Richardson stepped down as chairman of the GUI Ulster branch at last night's meeting in Shandon Park.

When the Carrickfergus man was elected 12 months ago he made it clear that he would only serve one term and he is replaced by Billy Black from Malone.

The fixtures for 1997 were released with the North of Ireland championship to be played at the Royal Portrush on July 7th-11th.
