Racing halted

There will be no racing at Punchestown until the start of the three-day festival on April 28th

There will be no racing at Punchestown until the start of the three-day festival on April 28th. The decision has been taken because of the extensive building project which has seen many of the old buildings on the racecourse levelled.

Punchestown will now lose 10 days racing and the IHA Fixtures Committee will meet tomorrow to reschedule the meetings. "We apologise for the inconvenience that this will cause our sponsors, customers, annual badge holders and racing professionals," said the track chief executive Charlie Murless.

"However this is necessary to ensure the development is completed on schedule," he added.
