NFL DIVISION FOUR:THREE MUNSTER teams – Waterford, Clare and Limerick – enter next weekend's final round still battling for the two promotion spots.

Waterford set-up a winner-takes-all clash with Clare at Fraher Field by beating Kilkenny 1-24 to 1-2 at Páirc Lachtain in Freshford on Saturday.

A Waterford goal from Liam Ó Lionain midway through the opening half all but ended the game as a contest. The score put Waterford 1-7 to 0-0 ahead.

In Ennis, John Galvin returned from basketball duty to inspire Limerick to a 0-14 to 2-7 win over a previously undefeated Clare.

Mickey Ned O’Sullivan’s charges reignited their promotion challenge and Limerick now welcome Leitrim to the Gaelic Grounds next Sunday afternoon.

London looked set to inflict another defeat on Carlow when a Killian Phair free left just the minimum in it with six minutes remaining. However, two points on the counter-attack from Simon Rea secured the 0-12 to 0-9 win.

And, at Carrick-on-Shannon, Colm Clarke’s late point proved to be the match-winner as Leitrim overcame Longford, 0-13 to 0-12.
