The Hollystown complex in north Dublin is to change from a pay-and-play facility to a private members club

The Hollystown complex in north Dublin is to change from a pay-and-play facility to a private members club. Hollystown opened as an 18-hole course in 1992 and has since been extended to 27 holes, with new houses overlooking the course now for sale. The membership details are being finalised with the expectation that Hollystown will affiliate to the GUI and ILGU by next year.

The switch will cause a few headaches for the Christy O'Connor club which has had an annual lease with guaranteed tee times at Hollystown for the last few years. That lease is not being renewed and the club must now make alternative arrangements to satisfy the playing demands of its members.
