DUNDALK will meet either Drogheda United or Waterford United at Oriel Park on May 1st (7.45) in the first leg of the play-off tie to protect their Premier Division status.
The return game will, depending on the results of the last series of games in the First Division championship next Sunday, be played at either Drogheda or Waterford on Bank Holiday Monday, May 5th (3.00).
Should the aggregate scores be tied at the end of the second game, 30 minutes extra-time will be played and if it is still unresolved at that point, a penalty shoot-out will determine the winners.
In the event of a play-off being necessary to decide whether Drogheda or Waterford finish second to the First Division champions, Kilkenny City, thus earning automatic promotion to the Premier Division, it will take place at a venue to be announced on May 1st. The revised dates for the play-offs would then be May 5th and May 9th.
