Dennis Paulson extended his lead at the Buick Classic after a second-round three-under-par 68 in New York. The American birdied five of the last 10 holes, after two early bogeys, to pull two shots clear of second-placed Skip Kendall, who also fired a 68.

Richard Coughlan shot 71 to add to his first round 76 and Keith Nolan 75 to better his first round of 77, but both missed the cut.
