Jamie Osborne maintained an unblemished record at Musselburgh in the last five years as he secured a double with his only two rides at the rain-lashed course yesterday.
The Yorkshire-born jockey made it five wins from his last five rides at the track with victories on the Paul Webber-trained pair Running Man and Torn Silk.
After jumping off his second winner, the mud-splattered Osborne grinned: "I better not come back here - in case I spoil my record."
Running Man spread-eagled the opposition in the opening event on the Stakis Casinos-sponsored card - and that was before the heavy rain that turned the track into a quagmire.
Rivals were strung out like washing behind as the 10 to 11 favourite, the subject of one bet of £10,000 at even-money, sluiced home by 22 lengths from Es Go.
The ex-French bred, who fell on his British debut, was recommended to Webber by his previous trainer Jean-Claude Rouget.
"He jumped well at Taunton and was unlucky to fall," said Webber. "I think he was having a bit of a confidence crisis here and we'll keep him low key to give him some practice."
Torn Silk was making his debut over fences and hardly put a foot wrong in the novices' chase.
Malcolm Jefferson had his first winner for 47 days yesterday and was on the mark again as Finewood (1-3) trotted up in the second division of the novices' hurdle.
Finbarr Leahy's insistence that Lord Pat should take part in the novices' handicap hurdle paid off as the eight-year-old defeated Swiftway by four lengths.
Trainer Kate Milligan said: "I was going to take him out because of the ground but Finbarr said that the horse only had 10st and that we had to have a go."
