LEINSTER MFC SEMI-FINAL Offaly 0-9 Wexford 0-2:OFFALY ADVANCED to a final meeting with Meath as the result of this comfortable seven-point victory over Wexford in their Leinster minor football championship semi-final clash at Wexford Park yesterday evening.

Offaly opened brightly, racing into a 0-5 to 0-0 lead by the end of the opening quarter. After Patrick Rigney pointed a free within 30 seconds of the start they went on to control the opening exchanges adding further points through Anton Sullivan, Brian Connor with two - one free, one 45 - and Graham Guilfoyle.

Wexford were making little impact, with their only score of the opening half arriving after 17 minutes, a Shane Bradley point, leaving the midland side leading 0-5 to 0-1 at the interval.

The opening score of the second half came after nine minutes with Brian Connor pointing a 21-metre free to stretch Offaly's lead to five.

Wexford got their second score through a Michael O'Regan pointed free 21 minutes into the second half but the game had been won and lost at that stage.
