OFFALY may yet decide to stand by their decision to withdraw from the National Hurling League in protest against the new structure.
When the matter was raised at last night's county board meeting in Tullamore the county board chairman Brendan Ward told delegates that the decision still stands and can only be rescinded by a decision of the county board.
The meeting also learnt that efforts to appoint a new hurling manager to succeed Eamonn Cregan have so far proved unsuccessful. The committee appointed to make a recommendation has held a number of meetings but is not yet in a position to put a name forward for ratification.
