NUI Galway ... 2-18 Dublin IT ... 2-18:Kilkenny's Willie O'Dwyer scored a magnificent goal to snatch a draw for DIT with the last puck at Dangan yesterday.
NUI Galway were on top from the moment Colin Ryan edged them in front in the first minute, and Darragh Egan flashed home a goal midway through the half.
Unlike NUI Galway's scores early on, the Dublin side's scores came from open play, including a goal from Seán Glynn to level the match. But the Galway side finished the half strong to go in at the break ahead, 1-10 to 1-6.
And NUIG soon edged further in front with a well-taken goal from Finian Coone, but DIT kept in touch and Peter Kelly scored seven points to narrow the deficit to a goal as full-time approached.
O'Dwyer's late strike then grabbed a share of the spoils.
