As the old song goes "What a difference a day makes", but in the case of Blainroe member Miriam O'Boyle it was a case of two days. On Monday last Miriam played in the annual Conquer Cancer competition at her home club and won the high handicap prize with a fine score of 37 points.
Two days later she played in a semi-open event and took the main prize with an incredible 47 points off her 36 handicap. An indication of just how good her score was is that Margaret Sinnott, who finished in second place, was an amazing 10 stableford points behind. With that sort of form, O'Boyle's handicap will tumble rapidly.
