Banbridge youngster Connor Doran will play on the US Collegiate circuit next season. Doran is following in the footsteps of fellow northerners Chris Devlin (Ballymena) and Graeme McDowell (Rathmore) by attending the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
Devlin stared for the "Blazers" team this season and took the Player of the Year honours in their conference. Doran will be hoping that he can similarly prosper under the tutelage of head coach Alan Kaufman. Meanwhile, McDowell, the holder, is included in a very strong international field for the Canon-sponsored Irish Youths Championship at Malone on June 29th and 30th. Players from South Africa, Germany, England, Wales and the Isle of Man are included in a field of 90 for the 72-hole event.
