Cork City 2 Bray Wanderers 0CORK CITY achieved back-to-back Airtricity League Premier Division wins for the first time this season as they easily beat Bray Wanderers at Turner's Cross last night.

Despite finishing with nine men after Ian Turner and Gearóid Morrissey were sent off, Cork always looked comfortable, save for a late Bray flurry as they chased something from the game.

The home side got on top early on and Vinny Sullivan was unlucky to head a Keigan Parker cross wide of the goal in the 12th minute. The City strike partnership was linking very well overall, and it was fitting that it should be they who combined for the opener.

Sullivan’s flicked pass from just inside halfway perfectly beat the offside trap and Parker had enough time to lift his curling shot over the advancing Darren Quigley.

Ian Turner was unlucky to hit the post with an effort before half-time but early in the second half Cork were given warning that the win was not wrapped up, when Bray’s David Webster pounced on loose defensive play to feed Danny O’Connor, but his shot was high and wide.

A minute later, Gavin Kavanagh doubled Cork’s lead with a header from a Turner corner.

Though Turner received his marching orders for a second yellow card on the hour, Cork rarely looked in trouble. Substitute Yani Georgiev had the away side’s only real chance, before Morrissey was also sent off late on after an entanglement with Adam Mitchell.
