George Graham has admitted he wants to bring Dutch goal ace Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink to Tottenham - on the day a scan revealed that Norwegian striker Steffen Iversen has sprained ankle ligaments which could rule him out for up to six weeks.

Former Leeds marksman Hasselbaink is the top scorer in Spain this season with 20 goals, but could be made available by his club Atletico Madrid to alleviate heavy debts.

Graham will almost certainly have to turn to another Dutchman, Willem Korsten, to deputise for Iversen against Leeds on Saturday.

Leeds chairman Peter Ridsdale has come to the defence of Mike Reed after the referee appeared to `celebrate' a Liverpool goal on Saturday. Patrik Berger put the home side 2-1 up against the Yorkshire team but TV cameras caught Reed punching the air.

Reed claimed he was congratulating himself on good refereeing because he had played an advantage earlier in the move, but Premier League spokesman Mike Lee said: "We understand the emotions involved but such gestures are open to misinterpretation and cannot be encouraged."
