The FAI were informed by UEFA yesterday that the result of the recent under-21 international between the Republic of Ireland and Macedonia has been changed to 30 in favour of the Irish.

UEFA have found Macedonia guilty of using an ineligible player in the scoreless draw at Terryland Park on June 8th. The player, Ilir Elmazovski, had been given a three-match ban after an incident at the under-21 game against Malta the previous November.

Elmazovski has now been suspended for the next two under-21 matches although there is the right to appeal.

David Platt was yesterday unveiled as the new manager of Nottingham Forest. The former England captain takes over from Ron Atkinson, who retired at the end of last season.
