My Club: Phoenix CC

Leonie Power (right) is a part of one of the country's oldest cricket clubs. Founded in 1830, it was once part of 11 clubs that played in the Phoenix Park but now shares it only with the Civil Service. The ground is one of the oldest in unbroken use in the world.

Charles Stewart Parnell was a member and at the end of each summer the club compete in a Parnell challenge in Avondale. Power is Leinster representative of the women's committee and a player with the club for the past three seasons.

Membership: There are over 100 between the four men's teams, one team of taverners, two women's and three schoolboy teams. The numbers are very steady at the moment and plenty of young talent for the future.

Status: The men's firsts team compete in Senior I (Section B) and the women's firsts in the second division with the seconds in the third division. The current club captain Alf Masood has the highest batting average of any player ever to play for Ireland.

Honours: The men have won the Irish Senior Cup and also were triple Leinster winners in 1975. There have been a number of internationals such as Gerry Murphy, Michael Halliday and Jimmy Boucher. Mary Pat Moore was the first captain of the Irish women's team and also the only player to score a century for Ireland which she did at the European Cup in 1995. Judy Cohen is one of the longest-serving Leinster League players.

Finest Hour: That would have to be the men's Senior Cup in 1986 but any international appearance by a club member is a huge honour.

Worst Moment: I'm happy to say that the club has a long and distinguished history so there's nothing that would be seen as a major disappointment.

Club Hero: Jamie Carnegie proved a bit of a hero recently when a player on the pitch collapsed and he helped revive him. Then he came out in the next game and scored over a 100 runs.

Greatest Rivals: Old Belvedere split from us in the 1950s and have remained sort of friendly rivals since but the other team in the Park, Civil Service, would also be traditionally the opposition to beat.
