Murphy looks set to get his last hurrah

Division Three Final: Greystones stalwart Liam Murphy will play his final game before retirement this afternoon

Division Three Final: Greystones stalwart Liam Murphy will play his final game before retirement this afternoon. He played his first senior game in 1988 and, along with Mark Phelan, relegated Reggie Corrigan to the secondrow when he arrived soon after at Dr Hickey Park.

Murphy's club have been the form team in the division, producing not only winning rugby but also entertaining rugby.

Instonians conjured a superb away victory to Clonakilty in the semi-final and will travel to Lansdowne Road unburdened by high expectations. History is in their favour as the promoted teams - Greystones in this case - don't have a great record in play-off matches.

Counteracting that statistic is the fact that Instonians have never beaten Greystones and if form substantiates that sequence of wins, then it won't start at Lansdowne Road today.
