Munster completed their short pre-season tour of Wales with an impressive victory over Premier Division side Llanelli at Stradey Park. Following their 57-0 whitewash of Cardiff club Rumney, the Munstermen boarded their Saturday evening flight from Cardiff in good spirits.
Llanelli's young three-quarter line were given a tough afternoon by the hard tackling Munster back-row unit of Eddie Halvey, Ultan O'Callaghan and Anthony Foley. Behind the scrum, centre Rhys Ellison gave a typical display of power and pace.
Llanelli led 19-13 at half-time but a second-half hat-trick of tries from wing John Lacey - in the space of 15 minutes - swung the game firmly in Munster's favour.
Scorers: Llanelli: G Evans, H Jenkins, C Wyatt try each; C Warlow conversion and 3 penalties; Munster: J Lacey 3, E Halvey, M Galwey, U O'Callaghan tries; K Keane 3 conversions and 2 penalties.
