Chicago Bulls guard Michael Jordan, who added another National Basketball Association record to his list of milestones and awards on Tuesday, was named NBA Player of the Month for December.

Jordan capped December by scoring 33 points in the Bulls' 99-95 loss at Minnesota on Tuesday, setting an NBA record with his 788th consecutive game scoring in double figures. He bettered the mark held by Kareem AbdulJabbar.

Jordan helped the Bulls to an 11-3 record in December, the best mark in the Eastern Conference, averaging 28.4 points, 6.9 rebounds and 3.2 assists per game. He topped 20 points in 12 of 14 games this month and the 30-point mark on four occasions. Jordan, who is going after an unprecedented 10th NBA scoring title, leads the league with an average 28.0 points per game.
