Following Sunday's third place in the Hungarian Grand Prix, the 27-year-old has now closed the gap to Formula One leader Michael Schumacher to just one point, with three races remaining - Italy, the United States and Japan.

"We have an agreement that he's driving to the end of 2004 and to some extent it's up to him," said BMW-Williams technical director Patrick Head.

"He's a free agent to decide where he's driving in 2005."

OLYMPICS: Australia is to issue new travel advisories for Greece and Germany but foreign affairs officials said yesterday the advice was not related to security issues or threats in either country.

A spokesman for Australia's Foreign Affairs and Trade Department said the advisories would bring Greece, the 2004 Olympics hosts, and Germany in line with similar advisories issued recently for France, Italy and Spain.

The advisories state that Australians should be alert for their security when travelling in those countries.
