A statement on Milan's website said Shevchenko would have an operation today and is expected to recover within 10 to 12 days, ruling him out of the first knockout round, first leg clash against United at Old Trafford.
JUVENTUS: Striker David Trezeguet will miss tomorrow's match against Real Madrid after being sidelined by flu, the Serie A club said yesterday.

INTER MILAN: Inter are still unbeaten in Serie A this season but on Saturday had to settle for yet another draw, their 15th of the 24 games so far this season, this time against Udinese.

OLYMPIQUE LYON: Ligue 1 leaders Olympique Lyon, who play Werder Bremen tomorrow, salvaged a 1-1 draw with 10 men at Monaco, who travel to PSV Eindhoven on Wednesday, thanks to a goal by substitute Jeremy Clement on the final whistle as they strengthened their chances of a fourth successive title last Friday.
Monaco seemed to have the match won after captain Julien Rodriguez broke the deadlock in the 84th minute. But Lyon, a player down after the dismissal of Ghana's Michael Essien in the 65th minute, struck back four minutes into injury time when Clement nodded home a free-kick taken by Brazil's Juninho Pernambucano.
