Michael Fenton made the most of his day at Brighton yesterday with a near 6 to 1 double. The jockey enjoyed an armchair ride on The Tatling but had to pull out all the stops on Baalbek to scramble home. The Tatling, a 1 to 4 shot, will now have his sights raised after cruising home four lengths clear of Where's Charlotte in the Laurent-Perrier Novice Median Auction Stakes. Trainer Michael Bell is planning to run him at the Curragh on August 29th. Fenton followed up with Baalbek in the Croft Original Maiden Stakes, sending the filly five lengths clear in the early stages. Yet the writing looked on the wall when Global Concept loomed up in the straight to slightly head her. But Baalbek got back up near the line to score by a short head at 9 to 2.
