Meath made a dream start with a goal after just 12 seconds, Barry Dardis palming to the net at he far post.

However, Tyrone responded with a superb fifth-minute goal, Seán Hackett drilling the ball to the bottom corner of the net and the sides went in at the break on level terms on 1-7 each.

Tyrone missed a handful of scoreable opportunities in the second half, but the efforts of Mark Bradley helped set up a thrilling climax before Meath rallied for Coogan to scramble home the dramatic match-winning goal.
