Fielding 11 of their Leinster championship players, Meath romped to an easy 22-point victory over a hapless London outfit in a ridiculously one-sided game in Navan on Saturday. It was a stroll in the park for the home side, who led by 2-11 to 0-1 at the break. New team captain Brendan Reilly blasted in the first goal after 11 minutes and Ray McGee netted the second before the end of the opening quarter.
Meath withdrew Reilly and Tommy Dowd, who had sent over four neat points, for the second half, during which London did a little better.
The third Meath goal came 12 minutes after the restart, with Ollie Murphy the scorer following a long ball from Jimmy McGuinness. Murphy also put his name on goal number four just before the final whistle.
