CONNACHT JUNIOR:A CONVERTED try from Cian McNally in the first half proved the critical score in helping Rice College, Westport, beat Marist College, Athlone, 13-6, yesterday.
Played in bitter conditions in Westport, Rice College fell behind to an early penalty, but came back with a try which was converted by Dwayne Corcoran.
Corcoran added two further penalties to give the Westport school a 13-3 interval lead, the visitors coming back with a second penalty before the end of the game.
Rice College now take on St Joseph’s College (The Bish) in the semi-final, with Calasanctius Oranmore waiting in the final.
