TYRONE SFC FINAL: Dromore 1-14 Ardboe 1-13: TYRONE STAR Colm McCullagh netted a stoppage-time penalty to seal a sensational county title success for Dromore yesterday.

Ardboe appeared to have the game wrapped up after laying on an exhibition of sparkling football in the second half. Having trailed by four points, they went five ahead with a Shea McGuigan goal, but saw glory cruelly snatched away deep into added-time.

Defender Kevin Donnelly made a telling late run and was taken down by goalkeeper Ryan Coleman, with Ardboe clinging on to a two-point lead in the third minute of added time.

Earlier, Dromore’s attacking unit always looked dangerous.

Points from Sean O’Neill, Eoin McCusker, Ronan McNabb and Colm McCullagh (two, one free), and midfielder Barry Collins (two) helped them establish a 0-7 to 0-4 interval lead.

Ardboe’s two first-half points from play came from defenders Ciarán Campbell and Gavin Teague. But with the McGuigan brothers and Kyle Coney rising to the challenge, they dominated the third quarter.

Teenager Shea McGuigan crashed home a goal, but Dromore refused to submit. Captain McCullagh steered over four points, and then kept his cool to slot home the dramatic late penalty.
