MAYO COUNTY board are to install temporary video cameras at McHale Park following their €5,000 fine after a fan fired a wooden object at Kerry star Kieran Donaghy.
The incident happened towards the end of last Sunday week's NFL clash, and apart from Mayo's €5,000 fine, Donaghy was banned for one match for reacting with a one-fingered gesture to the crowd.
The Mayo County Board executive held an emergency meeting last night and they may appeal the severity of the fine.
In the meantime board chairman James Waldron said extra steps would be taken to ensure next Sunday's week league showdown with neighbours Galway passes off without any off-field incident.
"We will be putting in temporary video cameras around the ground. They will be temporary because we are planning a major redevelopment of the ground, and will be putting in permanent cameras then," he said.
"We have studied TG4 footage of the game and we can't find anything to help us identify the culprit who threw the object.
"All we can do now is appeal to supporters who were at the game to come forward - somebody knows who threw it.
"We will be putting new stewarding arrangements in place too, though we have to say that we had adequate numbers of stewards for the Kerry game, which attracted a crowd of about 3,000."
The board have indicated they would ban the fan who fired the object. There were reports that some other items, including coins, were fired at other Kerry players during the game, including goalkeeper Diarmuid Murphy.
