Mayo 0-13 Leitrim 0-9:AFTER A cracking game in Cloone last night Mayo proved too good for underdogs Leitrim and advanced to a Connacht Under-21 Championship semi-final meeting with Roscommon on St Patrick's Day.
Leitrim took a two-point lead in the opening seven minutes after Kevin Conlan and Adrian Croal hit the target. But Mayo, who took the lead for the first time in the 21st minute with a Shane Nally point, increased that advantage by the break to a 0-7 to 0-5 margin.
After the restart Mayo increased their lead with a converted Alan Freeman free and a Neil Douglas point by the 36th minute. Leitrim closed the gap to two points by the 56th minute but Mayo ensured victory with points from Douglas and Freeman.
