CAVAN SFC FINAL: Cavan Gaels 1-20 Denn 2-11:CAVAN GAELS scooped their seventh Cavan senior football championship title in a decade with a comfortable win over a battling Denn side at Kingspan Breffni Park yesterday.
The Cavan town side, who went into the match without their county midfielder, Nicholas Walsh, were never in any danger and managed to go 0-9 to 0-2 ahead after 20 minutes.
A goal from man-of-the-match Micheal Lyng helped them into a 1-10 to 0-5 lead at the break and although Denn rallied midway through the half, the Gaels ran out easy winners, with corner forward Seánie Johnston bagging 0-5 over the hour.
Earlier on, Killann Gaels upset favourites Ballyhaise to take the minor final by 1-9 to 1-6.
