Carl Llewellyn faces three weeks on the sidelines after being knocked unconscious when his mount Beefy Nova took a heavy fall at the fourth last fence in the Racing Channel Available On Telewest Novices' Chase at Ludlow yesterday.

Llewellyn was knocked out for around six minutes. He appeared to be alright after he came round but was signed off for the mandatory 21 days.

Nigel Twiston-Davies, Beefy Nova's trainer is now on the lookout for a rider for his Murphy's Gold Cup hope Mister Morose.

Saffron Rose provided Dean Gallagher with his 17th winner of the season when taking the Paragon Maiden Hurdle at Taunton And he is now eager to pass his career best total of 42 winners.

The winner made virtually all the running under a fine tactical ride from Gallagher to win by a short head. However, the stewards took a dim view of his riding and banned him for two days (November 20th and 21st) for using his whip with excessive frequency.
