Leitrim GAA Club Allen Gaels booked their place in the last four of the FBD/Dunhill GAA Club All-Ireland Golf Challenge when they won the Connacht title at Tuam Golf Club last week.
The team of Paddy Quigley, Fr Peter Burke, Gareth McKeon, Tom Mulvey and Vincent McMorrow just edged out Lettermore from Galway with another Galway team, Tuam Stars, finishing third. With three scores to count from five Lettermore amassed 117 points. Quigley led the team home with 41 points and Fr Burke and McKeon each shot 38 to edge out Lettermore by just one point.
The Gaels will now represent Connacht in the All-Ireland finals at Faithleg Golf Club on August 12th and 13th where they will be joined by Ulster winners Cavan Gales and the Munster champions Boherlahane/Dualla from Tipperary.
