A LONG schools' cup campaign finally caught up with members of the Leinster A team when they went under to Dorset and Wiltshire Development XV at Donnybrook yesterday.

A dropped goal from William Passmore followed by a David Smith penalty put the hosts briefly in front but the English side responded with Scot Wythecombe and Mark Griffiths exploiting gaps down the right flank to run in two more scores making it 15-6 at the break.

Dorset and Wiltshire, who have in the past turned out the likes of Richard Hill and more recently Phil de Glanville, then killed off the game with tries from Henry Morris and Ben Gollings which the latter converted.

Leinster made a defiant last-gasp stand with Barry Loughrey charging over under the posts.
