AFTER sizing up the Irish attack with a half century at Castle Avenue on Thursday, Karen Le Comber dominated proceedings at Sydney Parade yesterday, scoring a masterful (or should that bed mistressful?) century to put New Zealand well out of Ireland's reach, 143 runs being the final margin of victory.

Le Comber shared a second wicket partnership of exactly 150 with all rounder Emily Drumm as the home bowlers struggled, with Barbara McDonald bowling the only maiden of the inning.

Two run outs near the binning of the Irish innings didn't help either, and it took an attractive innings of 30 from Nikki Squire to salvage some respectability towards the end.
