BEAUCHAMP KING will have the assistance of Michael Kinane as he bids to restore the sheen on a slightly tarnished reputation in the 2,000 Guineas at the Curragh on Sunday.
The grey, winner of the Craven Stakes at Newmarket before trailing in a disappointing fifth to Mark of Esteem in the 2,000 Guineas at Newmarket, will begin his association with the Irish champion because regular pilot John Reid will be riding in the Derby Italiano in Rome.
Bijou d'Inde, beaten a short head and a head behind Mark of Esteem in the Guineas, worked yesterday and is on course for the race, along with Spinning World and the Ian Balding-trained Tagula, second and third respectively behind Ashkalani in the Poule d'Essai des Poulains at Longchamp 10 days ago.
Henry Cecil's Phantom Quest, who beat Lammtarra's brother Kammtarra in a Newmarket maiden on 1,000 Guineas day, is a supplementary entry for the race.
Cecil's Distant Oasis, emphatic winner of her debut start at Ascot, has also been supplemented for the Irish 1,000 Guineas at the Curragh on Saturday.
