Former Kildare football player Pat Mangan came to the assistance of the sporting charity, GOAL, last week, when in his role as captain of the K Club, he organised a highly-successful fundraiser at the Straffan venue for GOAL's work with flood victims of Bangladesh.

The event, attended by Kildare football manager, Mick O'Dwyer, and the Kildare team, raised £16,500 for the agency's vital work in the devastated South East Asian country. Among the items purchased at the after-golf auction was team captain Glen Ryan's official team blazer.
