Leinster Schools SH A Quarter-final/ Kilkenny CBS 1-15 St Peter's, Wexford 1-6: An improved second-half performance saw Kilkenny CBS cruise to the most comfortable of nine-point victories over a disappointing St Peter's College side in this Leinster Colleges A quarter-final at Bunclody yesterday afternoon.

Kilkenny CBS delivered a telling early blow when when Brian Kennedy fired home a goal to help them establish a 1-1 to 0-1 lead after only six minutes.

But St Peter's, with the wind at their backs, responded with three unanswered points courtesy of Chris Wall (two frees) and Eoin Moore.

Michael O'Regan added a goal after 15 minutes to help the Wexford side ease into a two-point interval lead, 1-6 to 1-4.

Despite their best efforts, St Peter's failed to register a single second-half score as a Richard Doyle-inspired Kilkenny side took total complete command of proceedings.

They went on to post 11 unanswered points with goalscorer Kennedy being particularly accurate from frees, while full-forward Martin Gaffney also stormed into the game with a string of points.

Kilkenny CBS now look forward to a semi-final clash with county colleagues, Castlecomer CS.
