An injury-time goal from a free by Kevin Ivers gave Our Lady's, Templemore, a dramatic draw in a thrilling Dr Harty Cup Munster Colleges senior hurling semi-final against Tipperary neighbours Nenagh CBS at the Ragg yesterday.
After a shaky start, Nenagh made the running most of the way, but Templemore were never far behind them thanks to the accuracy of John Sweeney.
Nenagh led 1-5 to 0-7 at the interval. Their goal was a quality strike by Niall McGrath who slipped two tackles to put Nenagh 1-0 to 0-2 in front.
In the second half, Nenagh were never headed but were under constant pressure. Three McGrath points on the trot gave Nenagh a four-point lead and they seemed on course for victory. Templemore never gave up, however, and their persistence paid off when in injury time midfielder Kevin Ivers buried a 20-metre free in the Nenagh net to level the game.
