Meanwhile, Ireland's women's cricket team got off to a good start in the European Cup campaign when they defeated the home side, Denmark, by 42 runs at Nykobing Mors. Clare Shiilington top-scored with and undefeated 44, Catriona Beggs contributed 42, while Heather Whelan took three for 14 as Denmark chased Ireland's total of 162.
