With both countries having failed to reach the quarter-final stages of the Students World Cup, Ireland will play England in Johannesburg today in the plays off series for the minor placings, ninth to 16th in the competition.
Centre Andrew Thompson, outside half Owen Cobbe, hooker Richard Weir and prop John Maher, who did not play in the two group matches, are included in the Ireland side. The party will return home at the weekend.
