Ireland Schools 33 Wales Schools 13: An opening 40-minute blitz ensured the Irish Schools side were never under any undue pressure against Wales at Pontypool RFC on Saturday.

It came at a price though as St Michael's College prop Royce Burke-Flynn will miss Friday's game against France in Athlone after dislocating his shoulder just before half-time.

By then Ireland led 23-6 thanks to a try apiece from wingers Shane Hanratty and Vasily Artemiev, which were both converted by Brian Collins, the outhalf also adding two penalties and a drop goal.

Captain David Pollock added a third try in the second half, converted by Collins, while replacement outhalf James Shiels kicked another penalty before the end of the game.
