Ireland brought the curtain down on a largely disappointing week in the European Women's Junior Team Championship in Milan, slumping to a heavy 6-1 defeat at the hands of Home International Champions Wales.
Once both foursomes were lost, it was an uphill task for Ireland and with defeats in the top two singles matches their chances had completely disappeared. In the end, their only winner was Beaverstown's Martina Gillen. Meanwhile, the title went to Italy who beat England 5-2.
