NATIONAL FOOTBALL LEAGUE DIVISION THREE/Wexford 2-16 Louth 0-15:WEXFORD CLINCHED promotion and a place in the Division Three final with an emphatic victory over Louth at Wexford Park. It was a clinical display from Wexford and their victory margin could have been far greater had they not taken their foot off the pedal in the closing stages and also registered 12 wides.

Louth scored first through a Pádraig Matthews point after 30 seconds but that was the only time they led in the game. By the 20th minute Wexford had stormed into a 0-7 to 0-2 lead, through points from Ciaran Lyng (three), Adrian Flynn (two), Shane Roche and Matty Forde.

Despite late points from Eamonn Carroll, Darren Clarke and Jimmy Murray, Louth still trailed 0-10 to 0-5 at the interval.

Two goals within 12 minutes of the restart ended the game as a contest. Forde crashed home a splendid goal while great approach play from PJ Banville set up Shane Roche who finished superbly to leave the home side leading 2-10 to 0-6. Forde was sent off on a second yellow card offence but by then Wexford had booked a final meeting with Fermanagh.
