FAI Cup/Third Round Replay: Sligo Rovers - 2 Waterford United - 2Robbie Hedderman was the hero for Waterford United in a dramatic penalty shoot-out in this Ford FAI cup third round replay at the Showgrounds last night.

Fahiudin Kudozovic and Brian Cash missed good chances for Sligo and Hedderman saw his shot come back off a post in the second half of extra-time.

Waterford opened the scoring after eight minutes when Paul McCarthy beat Richard Brush from a Karl Bermingham cross to stun the 2,000 crowd largely made up of Sligo supporters.

The home side squared the match in the 17th minute when Kudozovic blasted a free kick from just outside the penalty area well out of Dean Delaney's reach for the Bosnian's 12th goal of the season in all competitions.
