MEN'S HOCKEY:THE RESUMPTION of the Leinster Senior League threw up a number of draws over the weekend. With some clubs missing their international figures, there was a levelling of sorts with Railway Union drawing with Monkstown 2-2, UCD finishing 1-1 with YMCA and Three Rock Rovers involved in a 3-3 draw with Corinthians at Grange Road.

Glenanne took full advantage of bottom-of-the-table Clontarf for 5-0, while Pembroke Wanderers squeezed past Fingal 2-1 at Serpentine Avenue to keep them in contention at the top.

The league table continues to have a familiar look to it with Monkstown leading, two points ahead of Pembroke and Glenanne in third five adrift of Monkstown.

Ireland ended the first phase of their Test matches against top opposition with three defeats to the Dutch and two draws against Britain at Bisham Abbey.
