Garda Training College 0-14 NUI Maynooth 1-10: Fourteen-man Garda Training College in Templemore produced a fine second-half display to overturn NUI Maynooth to qualify for the quarter-finals of the Sigerson Cup.

Leading 1-6 to 0-6 at the interval, thanks to a 15th-minute penalty goal from Westmeath attacker Ross Munnelly, Maynooth seemed to be on track to claim the win, especially with Bernard Brogan, son of former Dublin star Bernard, in flying form.

But the gardaí battled back bravely in the second half, and three points from Cork substitute James Masters helped them back into the game. Further points from David Marshall, Dabhach Dinneen and Patrick Mulvihill sealed the win for the Garda, who also had fine displays from Kerry full back Aidan O'Mahoney, Marshall, Mulvihill, Darren Rooney and Kieran Fitzgerald.

Garda finished with 14 men after midfielder Dave Fenton was dismissed for a second bookable offence just before the end.
