Shane Williams would have empathised with his Neath team-mates after their defeat to Connacht in the European Shield game last Saturday, that is if he had been around to witness it. Unfortunately for Williams he could only manage to help out the lads for the opening 40 minutes before racing from the Sportsground to try and catch a flight back to London.

We're not sure whether it was Dublin or Shannon that he was heading for but he had to be back in London before early evening to link up with the rest of the Wales squad who were preparing to depart for Buenos Aires and the World Cup Sevens. He must be one hell of a player or a Neath diehard to have taken in the Connacht pitstop en route to Argentina.
